In a move set to address the pressing issue of unemployment in the country, the Public Service Commission (PSC), has announced a significant recruitment drive.
The PSC has unveiled over 500 job vacancies across various government departments and agencies.
The announcement comes as welcome news for job seekers nationwide, offering a ray of hope in the midst of economic challenges exacerbated by the global pandemic.
The available positions span a wide range of fields, including healthcare, meteorology and education among others.
The key points of the announcement include 105 job openings for Occupational Safety and Health Officers, 8 positions available for Medical Officers, and 10 vacancies for Nursing Officers.
It is noteworthy that the government is specifically looking to hire 6 pharmacists.
Aligned with the thematic focus on Environment and Climate Change, the Public Service Commission (PSC) has made substantial strides in tackling urgent environmental issues by declaring three vacancies for Assistant Directors of Meteorological Services.
Furthermore, the commission aims to recruit the Director of the Meteorological Services Training Institute and Research, as well as 39 positions for meteorologists.
In addition to the environmental sector, the Public Service Commission announcement also includes 19 positions within cooperatives.
The commission has also earmarked 27 positions in medical services to alleviate staffing shortages and enhance healthcare provision nationwide.
The PSC has also reopened applications for 177 Deputy County Commissioner vacancies that were originally advertised in 2023 urging previous applicants to submit their applications again.
Meanwhile, the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) has initiated a recruitment drive to occupy 203 positions within the organization.
The revealed vacancies, announced on Tuesday, encompass a broad spectrum of positions essential for the college’s efficient operation.
These include openings for Senior Lecturers specializing in Pharmacy and Community Oral Health.
