Public Service Commission Unveils AI-Driven Website To Enhance User Experience,Accessibility

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has officially launched a new AI (Artificial Intelligence)-based website designed to be more interactive and user-friendly, significantly enhancing access to key services provided by the Commission.

The launch event, held today, September 13th, 2024, at the Commission House, marked a pivotal step in the Commission’s digital transformation journey.

Speaking at the launch, PSC Chairman, Amb. Anthony Muchiri, highlighted that the new website is user-centric, incorporating modern AI technology and features that make it easier for citizens to interact with the Commission.

“Incorporation of Ai technology, modern day user-friendly features will make it easy for the citizens to interact with the Commission,” Amb. Muchiri stated.

The launch event was attended by key stakeholders, including the President of Mozilla Foundation, Ms. Mitchell Baker, who was the chief guest. Ms. Baker praised the strategic partnership between the Public Service Commission and Mozilla Corporation, emphasizing its timeliness and potential impact on digital innovation.

She reaffirmed Mozilla’s commitment to creating more opportunities for young people through open-source technology, underscoring the significance of the collaboration between PSC and Mozilla in promoting technological advancements and capacity building.

“Open-source technology creates more avenues for young people to innovate solutions and make an impact in their lives and society at large,” said Ms. Baker.

The development of the new PSC website was a collaborative effort between the Commission, Mozilla Corporation, and Peak and Dale Solutions.

The AI-driven platform is expected to enhance service delivery by streamlining navigation, providing real-time assistance through AI-powered chatbots, and improving the overall user experience for citizens, public servants, and stakeholders.

In addition to the new website, the Public Service Commission and Mozilla Corporation are partnering on other projects, including the capacity building of data handlers in the public service.

These initiatives aim to strengthen digital skills, promote innovation, and foster a culture of data-driven decision-making within the public sector.
