QPR have sacked Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink with Tim Sherwood in the frame to replace him.
The 44-year-old said he was hopeful of being given more time following Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest but the Loftus Road hierarchy have decided to make a change in a bid to get their season back on track.
Ten-man QPR were heading for another defeat when Idrissa Sylla rescued a point with a late header on Saturday.
‘If they (QPR’s owners) are going to do something, that’s the nature of the game,” Hasselbaink said.
‘I’m trying to do a good job and I think we’re going in a good direction. Hopefully, I’m being given time, if not, I can’t do anything, that’s not my decision.’
