Azimio la Umoja Presidential candidate Hon Raila Odinga has urged Coast region electorates not to be hoodwinked by revolutionary lies being peddled by his political opponent.
Raila took a swipe at his political nemesis Deputy President William Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza brigade calling them out for giving fake promises to kenyans.
The Azimio la Umoja One Kenya presidential candidate was speaking in Gotani village in Kaya Fungo ward, Kaloleni constituency, Kilifi as he winded his four-day tour of the coastal region yesterday evening.
The former premier said that he was best fit to address the challenges facing the region top on the list being historical land injustices that have bedeviled the region for years.
He also promised that his administration will ensure coastal electorates have access to clean drinking waters, improve road infrastructure and ensure that health facilities are fully operational to make access to health services available countrywide.
“We have four enemies we need to fight as a government, poverty, illiteracy, hunger and corruption,” Raila said.
Raila also said that the runaway corruption in the country had denied much needed services that the citizens want.
Raila also called for increased voter turnout ahead of the elections as he urged the residents to deliver to him and all ODM six piece to ensure that he has foot soldiers to deliver on the Azimio manifesto.
“Our youth are digital, you promised them laptops but now you want to give them wheelbarrows. Be wary of them (Kenya Kwanza) and their dirty tricks,” said Raila.
The Azimio presidential running mate Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua on her part affirmed that she will not entertain corruption.
“This election is about looking for leaders who will protect your resources. Don’t allow a few people to pocket your money and come here to bribe you with handouts,” said Karua.
She said that voting back those who have looted the country was only inviting back trouble.
“Raila has handed me the justice docket, I shall work diligently. I am not going to entertain corruption, all corrupt individuals will face the law,” she said.
She hailed Raila’s track record saying that Raila fought for the new constitution and democracy.
“He is ready to lead the next economic revolution, he needs loyal foot soldiers to implement his agenda,” she said
Mombasa governor Hassan Ali Joho who is also ODM deputy party leader put on notice all land grabbers in the county saying that their days were numbered.
He promised to get to work immediately he is sworn in to office as the lands CS if Raila wins.
“You all know me; I don’t joke when it comes to work. I promise you that under Raila’s government all land issues especially in our region will be sorted,” said Joho.
Joho further agitated for a six piece voting in favor of ODM as he reiterated that the region was party to ODM as he dismissed other leaders from the region pushing for a coastal political outfit.
