H.E Raila Odinga this morning hosted a farewell breakfast for outgoing US Ambassador to Kenya Mr. Robert Godec who is ending his tour of duty in Kenya after six years. The breakfast meeting took place at Mr. Odinga’s Karen home. The ambassador was accompanied by Deputy Chief of Mission Mirembe Nantongo.
Mr. Odinga thanked ambassador Godec for his efforts to strengthen the overall relations between Kenya and the US and for his commitment to helping Kenya tackle issues like corruption, insecurity, exclusion, rule of law and national unity. While wishing the ambassador success in his future postings, Mr. Odinga appealed to him to remain Kenya’s goodwill envoy in Washington.
The ambassador promised continued support for programs that are aimed at improving governance, including the Building Bridges Initiative, democratization and trade between Kenya and the US.
