The ODM Party leaders Hon. Raila Odinga has condemned the ongoing abductions in the country and termed the act as primitive.
“The issue of the abductions of innocent Kenyans is a primitive thing and it’s something that is very strange. We cannot run a country that people disappear or are abducted for no reason and kept incommunicado for a long time. That shows that there is no government,” Odinga said.
The Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has urged for an immediate cessation of the ongoing abductions occurring within the nation.
“The government must take this thing seriously and it must come to an end immediately. We want a safe and secure country,” he said.
Mr. Odinga emphasized that the days of abductions are long gone and Kenya is a democratic nation and it should remain so.
“Gone were those days when they used to arrest you and take you to Nyayo House and Nyayo House was a government institution. But these days you are being taken to unknown places. We don’t want this kind of primitive thing to happen in our country. It is primitive and unacceptable completely,” Mr. Odinga added.
Hon. Odinga further said that this year has been challenging for the people of Kenya, where there was demonstrations and innocent lives being lost.
He emphasized that abductions of innocent Kenyans must come to an end and that any Kenyan found to be contravening the law should be dealt with lawfully.
This comes after four innocent Kenyans were abducted recently by armed men within the country.
Peter Muteti and Billy Mwangi were kidnapped by four armed men in Uthiru and Embu respectively while Benard Kavuli was also abducted at a petrol station in Ngong by four armed men with a white Probox.
