Democratic Republic of Congo’s leader Felix Tshisekedi arrived in the country Wednesday morning, where he was recieved by former prime minister Raila Odinga ahead of a two day official two day official visit.
Tshisekedi jets in the country just two weeks after his inauguration for talks with his host President Uhuru Kenyatta, who was the only African leader at his inauguration in Kinshasa.
Former prime minister Raila Odinga earlier today met Tshisekedi, who is on a two-day visit to Kenya.
Mr. Odinga congratulated President Tshisekedi on his election and for the first peaceful transfer of power DRC in close to 60 years.
He appealed to the President to bring his country together by embracing players from diverse backgrounds. He particularly appealed to the President not to allow cracks that could be exploited by foreign interests as happed in the first independence government. The two leaders also discussed how to deepen ties between Kenya and the DRC.
