National Super Alliance leader, Raila Odinga has assured that he will be pursuing an out of court settlement in resolving the controversy surrounding Kibra MP Ken Okoth’s interment following a court order.
Senior principal magistrate G.A. Mmasi, yesterday issued orders against both Okoth’s mother, Angeline and wife Monica, barring them from burial, cremation or in any manner disposing of the body of the MP.
The orders were obtained by nominated Nairobi County Assembly Member, Ann Muthoni Thumbi who wants the family to recognize a child she claims she bore with the deceased
Thumbi has announced she is ready to take a DNA test to prove her five-year-old son was sired by the late MP.
The court directed Thumbi to serve the application to the family and the parties to appear in court on 9th August for hearing.
Lee Funeral Home or any other funeral homes in possession of the MP’s body are also barred from releasing it to anyone.
