Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa has been released on a cash bail of 500,000.shs or a bond of 1 million shillings. Her bodyguard Goefrey Ogudo has too been released on a cash bail of 500,000shs. Mombasa Court Magistrate Vincent Adet stated that the prosecution has no evidence to retain the accused persons, for the 21 days as requested.
The legislator has however been instructed to attend to investigation sessions as from the 22nd of October.
The fiery legislator was arrested on Wednesday, after a gun drama, where ODM candidate in the Ganda Ward by-election Ruben Katana’s uncle was shot.
In her defence, Jumwa had stormed Katana’s home to protest campaigns allegedly being conducted after IEBC’s campaign deadline.
