In a celebration of a century of dedicated service, Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, Mary Muthoni, commended Rotary International for its extraordinary contributions to Kenya’s public health sector.

Speaking at the Centennial Foundation Gala Award Dinner held in Nairobi, PS Muthoni highlighted Rotary’s pivotal role in eradicating polio, improving maternal health, and strengthening pandemic preparedness.

“Rotary has been a steadfast partner in enhancing health outcomes for our communities. This partnership embodies the spirit of collaboration that drives sustainable change,” she said.

The gala event, which celebrated Rotary’s 100 years of transformative service in Africa, honored the contributions of Paul Harris Fellows and Major Donors who have championed healthcare initiatives across Kenya.

In her remarks, PS Muthoni underscored the significant strides made in public health through Rotary’s efforts.

Rotary International President, Dr. Stephanie Urchick, reaffirmed the organization’s dedication to advancing Universal Health Coverage, advocating for mental health, and addressing climate-related health challenges.

She emphasized the importance of the partnership with Kenya’s Ministry of Health in building sustainable health systems.

“This milestone reflects our shared vision of building resilient, healthier communities. Together, we are creating a legacy of service and hope for future generations,” said Dr. Urchick.

Rotary’s continued commitment to public health initiatives in Kenya promises to further enhance the well-being of communities across the nation.

Through ongoing partnerships and innovative health programs, Rotary and the Ministry of Health are poised to make lasting impacts on the lives of countless Kenyans.
