The two rugby players convicted of gang raping a female musician last year have been handed a 15 year sentence each.
On 8th August, 2019, Milimani Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku found the players Alex Olaba and Frank Wanyama guilty of gang rape.
The Harlequin players were charged last year after they reportedly raped a female musician on the night of 10th Ffebruary, 2018 at Seefar apartments in Highrise, Nairobi.
Sentencing of Olaba and Wanyama was last Friday postponed after the two presented their case for noncustodial sentence.
Magistrate Mutuku had been urged to give the two a more lenient sentence considering the two were only aged 23 and 22 years while the complainant is 24.
