Rural teacher scoops global award

Global Teacher Award winner from Nyamria country,Peter Tabichi continued to receive accolades following his feat that had put Kenya in the international map.

The  rural home of the  winner at Kerongo village in Manga sub county was awash with celebrations after he  had  emerged  top among 10,000 contestants to scoop  the sh. 100 million award.

Tabichi who teaches at Keriko  secondary school in Nakuru county was known to be innovative in teaching physics and maths,a   learning infrastructure fundraiser and national exam performer..

80% of monthly salary is donated to the poor in society and the vulnerable.

Family members and friends congratulated the St. Franciscan  brother cum teacher  of the catholic church  for uplifting the  social status of the family, community and the country.

His sister,Careen Tabichi said the  award was seen coming after her brother had excelled in  the  profession  including  receiving  a continental award ‘’African Teacher of the Year  Award’’ .
