President William Ruto has appointed Simon Gikuru as the new Comptroller of the State House.

The announcement was made on 5th May by the Presidential Press Service.

Gikuru, an Advocate at the High Court of Kenya, boasts more than ten years of expertise in various fields including law, management, strategic planning, policy development, financial management, consulting, logistics and conflict resolution.

He previously served as the Secretary General of the Amani National Congress Party.

The recently appointed deputy State House comptroller was among the 50 Chief Administrative Secretaries (CASs) whose appointments were invalidated by the High Court.

The nullifying decision came after a three-judge panel determined that the proper procedures were not adhered to in establishing the office.

President Ruto had nominated him to work in the Ministry of Information, Communication and the Digital Economy under the leadership of Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo.

Gikuru also has experience as a Managing Associate at Chege Kamau & Company Advocates.

Additionally, he served as the Group Managing Director of Amoo Holdings International Limited, a regional logistics company with operations spanning Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan, Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

“I thank His Excellency President William Samoei Ruto most sincerely for according me the chance to serve as the Deputy Comptroller of State House and more so for believing in young people,” Simon Gikuru said in a post.

“I shall put my best foot forward and make my fellow youth proud as I serve our great county,” he added.

The President is confident that Gikuru will significantly contribute to the achievement of the country’s goals.
