Safaricom has reported a net profit of Sh38.1 billion for 2015/16, driven by strong growth in voice and non voice revenue.This was a 19% rise from 31.87 billion profit posted in 2014.
Voice revenue jumped 14 % to Sh177.8 billion. Non-voice grew 26% from Sh68.54 billion to Sh86.9 billion.
Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization grew 17 % from Sh71. to Sh83.1 billion, boosted by voice revenue and cost efficiency.
The company has proposed a dividend payment of 76 cents per share.
