Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja on Friday paid a visit to the Mbagathi hospital in Nairobi, where he promised to clear pending hospital bills for patients who had been detained.

Sakaja and his team visited patients at the hospital and engaged in discussions with both doctors and patients. In a video shared via his social media platform X, the governor thanked the doctors at Mbagathi Hospital for resuming work.

” Thanks for coming to work. Nyinyi ndio mnafanya kazi ya maana. Keep it up,” said Sakaja. He pledged to clear hospital bills for those who had accumulated debt in a bid to decongest the facility and reunite the patients with their families.

He ordered the release of patients who had been detained for over a week. “Those above a week and were discharged can be released,” he said.

Sakaja also took to his x page to thank Nairobi Doctors for resuming work. He additionally announced the reinstatement of the Public Service portal for the recruitment of Medical and Clinical Officers.

Thank you Nairobi Doctors. Also, our Public Service portal is back on for the hiring of Medical and Clinical Officers. Check out cpsb.nairobi.go.ke

“You can also follow up on the status of your application on the same portal. We are grateful for all you do for our people and will continue to do our part to keep it working.” Stated Sakaja.
