Nandi Governor Stephen Sang was charged with three offences after destroying property at Kibwari tea estate. The tea Estate is associated with former powerful minister Henry Kosgey.

Governor Sang was charged at a Kisumu court with malicious damage to property, incitement to violence and abuse of office. He denied all three charges and was released on KSH 1 million bond or KSH 500,000 cash bail.

The magistrate dismissed an application to stop the governor from being charged and taking plea, saying it lacked merit.

The case will be heard on September 19th.
