The high court has allowed Sarah Wairimu, the widow of the slain Dutch businessman Tob Cohen, who is accused of murdering her husband to attend his burial which will be held today.
Lawyers from both sides of the family agreed that Cohen will be buried in a private ceremony at 2 pm on Monday at the Jewish cemetery on Nairobi’s Wangari Mathai road, where burial rites will be conducted per the Jewish custom by community leaders. Wairimu will, however, be in the company of prison warders.
This even as sister to Cohen, Gabrielle Van Stratan left the country ahead of her brother’s burial
The former CEO of Philips electronics East Africa disappeared on July 19. Eight weeks later on September 13, his body was found in an empty water tank at his Kitusuru home in Spring Valley, Nairobi.
