SCHOOLS HIT BY SANITATION CONSTRAINTS

Sanitation challenges have hit  some public schools in Bonchari constituency prompting emergence intervention from  National Government Constituency Development Fund(NGCDF).

Sanitation facilities at the affected learning institutions have been demolished due to on-going road construction were inadequate or had  collapsed since they were located on swampy areas.

The schools  are also  lacking enough clean water to maintain the required high  standards of hygiene  at a time covid19 pandemic ravaged the  locked down region.

This comes as schools prepared to reopen for the first term on July 26  2021 after one week break.

Area legislator, Pavel Oimeke who  visited several affected schools revealed  the emergency money was to fix the problem with each institution receiving   Ksh. 1.2million.

Nyamare primary school ,he explained, will further  benefit  from  a  water project to be completed soon under a joint community and NGCDF sponsorship.

Decrying the rate at which the elderly were losing their lives allegedly to the coronavirus complications,Oimeke supported President Uhuru Kenyatta’s pronouncement  that the country will attain full vaccination against the disease by end of next year.

He urged the residents to adhere to the ministry of  health protocols  to  prevent  the pandemic from spreading.

On the recent  re-conciliatory initiative by the ODM party leader Raila Odinga and Kisii political leadership, the MP remarked it should be supported to realize the intended objectives.

The strained relations reportedly emanated from   the just concluded Bonchari by election.

Oimeke  urged the leaders to burry the hatchet  to pave way for  unity and   faster development.
