Scores of Mombasa residents stranded following heavy downpour

Scores of Mombasa residents have been left stranded following heavy downpour experienced in the last 48hours, leaving their homes flooded.

At the Pwani International Bible College in Kongowea, several theology students were forced to vacate their dormitories after rainwater engulfed their premises.

According to Rev Jonathan Mutunga, the deputy principal of the college, a big concrete pipeline that cuts across the institution’s playground has been leaking since the rains started and its effluent sipping through the entire college compound posing a serious health hazard.

Mutunga said that apart from the dormitories, their college kitchen and staff houses were also flooded by the waters from the broken sewer line.
