SDA leadership row

There was drama and confusion at the Nairobi Central SDA church forcing police to chase away worshippers.

Months of an escalating leadership stalemate has seen members of the Seventh Day Adventist Church divided over a controversial process of deregistering some of them.

A key part of the dispute is the 2015 election of heads of the Central Kenya Conference of the SDA Church. Hundreds of brethren who had turned up for worship were left stranded outside the church following the leadership wrangles.

Apparently a church official was reading a list of individuals to be deregistered when a section of the congregation challenged the process. They even went to the extent of occupying the pulpit, leading to a heated exchange. This is the second time in as many weeks that such disruption was witnessed.
