A renowned sexual worker in Narok town is seeking for justice after people well known to her assaulted her in the wee hours of the night.
Elizabeth Njeri, a confessed sexual worker and bar maid at Manjus bar in Narok town said she has been doing that business to feed her children due to lack of an alternative job.
She confessed that on Wednesday night, she was beaten by two men who claimed she had stolen their money, and her effort to seek justice did not bear fruits as the police allegedly turned her away.
“It is not our will to do such shameful jobs, we are doing this so as to get money to assist our children to live decent life, “she said.
Her mother Edith Mwihaki said her daughter called her in the early morning hours claiming she had been assaulted by a group of men and upon reaching the scene, she found her daughter lying unconscious outside the bar.
She rushed her to Narok County Referral Hospital for treatment and later visited the police station to seek justice where they were allegedly turned away.
Narok North and Central Sub County Police Commander Frederick Shiundu said the assaulted woman and her mother visited the police station when they were too drunk and were turned away to sober up first so that they can record the statement.
However, Shiundu said the woman is a renowned sex worker who has in the past been accused of robbing of unsuspicious old men thousands of shillings in pretense of making love.
“This lady has been in my office on several occasions and I have advised her to seek alternative jobs like farming but she has ignored me. However, we will investigate the incident,” said Shiundu.
