Few show up to register as voters in Kamukunji

On the second day of the third phase of voter registration a low turnout was witnessed in various polling stations as was witnessed yesterday in Nairobi and most parts of the country. This comes after a series of mass sensitization campaigns around the country from different political factions and leaders on the importance of being a registered voter.

In Kamukunji few people turned out to register as voters ahead of the coming general elections. Residents blamed this on the lack of a central polling station making it hard for them to locate the station. There was one BVR kit contrary to the law of three to ten BVR kits per polling station depending on the number of voter turnout.

It was also said that most Kenyans will begin to register as voters when the period of voter registration is coming to an end.
