As the rate of new infections of Covid-19 continuously surge in the endemic regions of Nyanza and Western parts of the country, Siaya has been amongst the worst hit counties thus calling for more efforts in fighting the virus.
It is in this regard that the Department of Health and Sanitation in the county has stepped up its mandate in the fight against Covid-19 in the county and urged residents not to flaunt safety regulations even as vaccination efforts continue across the county.
Speaking at the Department of Health Head Quarters in Siaya town, Dr. Felix Tindi called for increased collaborative efforts between the government and donors in private and public sectors to strengthen the fight against the pandemic.
Dr. Tindi was speaking during a handing over ceremony of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) donated to the County Government by Fred Hollows Foundation and Australian Aid to assist the Department of Health and the County at large to adequately manage the fight against Covid-19 cases and protection of health workers in their duties.
