The Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation in office, Josep Borrell, is in Kenya to analyse the state of relations between Spain and Kenya and he will know first-hand the Spanish interests in the country.
The agenda of the head of Spanish diplomacy began on Monday in Nairobi (Kenya), where he met with the Tourism and Wildlife Minister, CS Najib Balala and Treasury Minister CS Henry Rotich, and visited the United Nations headquarters located in Nairobi.
Subsequently, he held a working lunch with the resident coordinator and representatives of the UN office in Nairobi (UNON), the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and UN-Habitat.
Minister Borrell closed his first day of official visit in Kenya by attending a reception that he offered to the Spanish nationals resident in the country at the residence of the Spanish Ambassador.
On Tuesday, the Minister will open his agenda with a breakfast with Spanish businessmen based in Kenya. He will also meet with his counterpart, Monica Juma, and with the Kenyan President, Uhuru Kenyatta, an act which will end his visit.
