Speaker of the national assembly Justin Muturi has urged the government to take firm action against those fueling the clashes in Laikipa. Muturi urged the security agents to get to the root of the matter and bring those culpable to book and have them charged. He said that arrest of two politicians who are suspected to be fueling the clashes make the situation appear artificial and politically instigated. His sentiments were echoed by Murang’a women representative Wanjiru Chege who said it’s the responsibility of the government to protect it’s people and their property. Chege urged the government to act swiftly and arrest the situation before things get out of hand.
She also warned the leaders to stop inciting people into violence instead they should work to bring peace and unite the people.
