Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka has assured Kenyans that the protracted stalemate between the Senate and the National Assembly over the Division of Revenue Bill 2019 will soon be resolved.
Lusaka who spoke when he led a team of senators to inspect ongoing preparation for the second Senate Mashinani which is set to be held in Kitui, has revealed that the two houses are aware of serious cash crisis counties are facing.
Echoing Lusaka’s sentiment, Murang’ a Senator Irungu Kang’ata regretted that the stalemate had pushed counties into illegal borrowing to pay workers’ salaries as well as finance county government operations.
