SPORTS FKF TARGETS ALL MACHAKOS WARDS AFTER LAUNCHING A LEAGUE

FKF Machakos Branch has launched a drive to start a Ward League in Machakos county that will target all the 40 wards of Machakos so that talent can be tapped from Mashinani/Village to the County and National levels.

This has been confirmed by FKF NEC member Anthony Makau who said that there was plan to tap all talents from the county as many youths get lost to drugs and early pregnancies but once they get engaged in sports that will be a thing of the past.

Makau said that there will be competitions in different levels from Ward ,Sub-county,County then to Division 2,Division 1,NSL then Premier league saying that it will be easy now to recognize and get talent when these levels are set in place.
Over the weekend Makau confirmed that they had also kicked off the Sub-county league with the first been the Mavoko sub county then the rest which are 7 sub counties in number will follow.
This comes just a week after the start of Women county league in Matungulu sub county that will also see ladies and girls interested in soccer participate.
The teams that played during the launch were Kisaani fc vs Beach Fc were the two teams drew on 1-1 but after the post match penalties Kisaani emerged the winners on 4-2 with Kisaani goalkeeper Martin Mutava saving two of the penalties.
Speaking after the match the Kisaani captain Martin Mutava said that the game was good and they tried their best thus promising their fans a win at the end of the tournament.
Mutava also called on elected leaders to come out in handy and support the youths as the league will involve alot of traveling and most of the youths are unemployed.
His counterpart Titus wambua Musyoka the Beach FC captain said the curtain raiser was a derby although they were not well prepared.He also urged the fans to be disciplined as they give support and cheer up their favorite team.
CAS Wavinya Ndeti who was also present at the event said that she is supporting the youth through sports and more so through the FKF.She added that drugs  and early pregnancies had taken toll of the youths but now that there was a structured manner of football through fkf youths will be engaged,busy and talent will be tapped.Wavinya said her dream was to have a Machakos all Stars that will participate in Kenya Premier league and some even to international leagues.
Also Present in the event was Hon Francis Mwangangi said that he will support all the teams in the entire Yatta subcounty with a pair of uniforms and two balls each and still pay the affiliation fees to FKF as a way of tapping and lifting talent and also encouraging as many teams as possible to come up and play in the league.Yatta has 5 wards with Katangi being one of them and if all goes well talented players will sprout out and get to play both Nationally and Internationally.
The launch was done at Katangi Primary school grounds in Yatta subcounty Machakos county.
