10 girls aged Under 20 years from Southern Region(Machakos ,Kitui and Makueni) have qualified in the selection to join the rest of their colleagues from all over Kenya in the on going Harambee Starlets U 20 scouting.Confirming this after the exercise Charles Okere Okoth the Harambee Starlets Headcoach said that he was happy for FKF goodwill in getting talents from the grassroot(Mashinani). He said that there were alot of talents to be nurtured from the grassroot. The girls will join the rest so that a team can be picked to represent Kenya in the on coming CECAFA games.

Anthony Makau who is FKF NEC member said the region had assembled the best players from Machakos,Kitui and Makueni and thus they will retain the rest so that they can have a team from the region.He added that the 10 selected will be part of the provisional squad for the Harambee starlets Under 20.He also said that those who were left will continue training and soon after the STarlets under 20 is named they will go for a friendly match with them.
Makau urged parents to release girls for soccer as the federation is making sure that they are secure and proper structures are in place.
Judy Mbai a member of Tala starlets said she was happy to have made it to be among the 10 and promised her fans and team that she will try hard to be in the last squad and represent Kenya in CECAFA.
Her sentiments were echoed by Lyan Kimasha from Fantasy soccer who said that she will put more efforts and ensure that she secures a place at the National team and also represent Kenya. The scouting was done at the Machakos Boys high school
