State donates drugs, planes for blast victims

The government yesterday donated 11 tonnes of assorted medicine for victims of the twin bomb blasts in Mogadishu, Somalia. It will also sent two planes to airlift 31 injured people for treatment in Kenya.

At least 279 people were killed and 350 injured in the Saturday attack. Foreign Affiars CS Amina Mohammed yesterday launched “Kenyans For Somalia” initiative and called on people of goodwill to support their brother and sisters.

“Our hope is to raise enough funds and support the injured and their families,” Amina added.

She spoke KICC at an event dubbed “Girls Matter: Conversations with Young Women,” which seeks to increase the participation of women in governance.
