Metro Sports FC secured their third win in the Super 8 Premier League courtesy of a 1-0 away win over hosts Githurai All-Stars at the Stima Club.
Michael Ochieng’ gifted Metro maximum points after firing in the decisive winning goal with four minutes to stoppage time, steer the coach David Mbugua led the side to 12th place on the 16-team log.
Githurai bossed the proceedings from the onset but failed to capitalize on their chances leaving the match open for close to 86 minutes.
“It has not been easy for us but I am thankful for the win, we utilized the best chance we got which is important because our objective is to get better and better.” Metro assistant coach David Mbugua said.
Githurai sits at the second position with 14 points, eight points behind leaders Jericho All-Stars who secured a 1-0 away at the Nakeel grounds against Rongai All-Stars.
Githurai coach Fredrick Ochieng’ said: “We were good on both on offence and defence but luck was not on our side, we created chances but converting them was the problem.”
Elsewhere at the drive inn grounds, Mathare Flames and Shauri Moyo Sportiff played to a 1-1 draw as TUK bagged maximum points against Meltah Kabiria after a 4-2 final score at the Bp Grounds.
