Teachers under Kenya Union of Post Primary Education (KUPPET) will down their tools from 1st July, next month, if the government will not have honored the CBA they agreed on.
This is according to Mary Rotich, KUPPET executive secretary, Kericho branch, who pointed out that they are expecting nothing less than the agreement and they are waiting for implementation and no services will be provided if it will not be honored.
On the planned changes by the ministry of education on teachers and increased subjects to three, Rotich said it was wrong for the ministry to come out with changes without involving the stakeholders as it will mess the sector.
The branch secretary said changing policies in the profession should be held with esteem and research should have been carried out before implementation.
Rotich also called on TSC not to sign for AON medical cover for the teachers as they are frustrated over their services and no need to be forced, but instead needs better services like NHIF.
