Teen Girl Killed in Family Altercation in Narok

A family in Narok Central has been thrown into grief following the tragic death of a 16-year-old girl after a heated argument with her 17-year-old cousin turned fatal.

According to the Directororate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) the incident, which has left the Fanaka estate community in shock, was reported at Narok Police Station on Saturday the 21st  December 2024.

According to eyewitnesses, the two cousins were engaged in a verbal altercation that quickly escalated into violence.

The 17-year-old suspect is alleged to have stabbed her cousin during the fight, causing fatal injuries.

Despite the swift intervention of neighbors, the victim succumbed to her wounds due to profuse bleeding and was pronounced dead upon arrival at Narok County Referral Hospital.

“The deceased, a 16-year-old girl who hails from Fanaka estate of Narok Central died of profuse bleeding, inflicted on her by her 17-year-old first cousin (female) after a heated argument,” stated the DCI.

The suspect has since been taken into police custody and is awaiting arraignment on Monday, December 23.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the events leading to the altercation, with family members and neighbors expected to provide crucial insights.

Police urge the public to allow the investigation to proceed without interference and to respect the family’s privacy as they mourn their loss.
