“Having reviewed the applications for completeness and conformity with the constitutional and statutory requirements set out in the advertisement Ref. V/No.30/2023 of 23rd October 2023, the Commission shortlisted seven candidates.”

The seven candidates include Rose Macharia Wachuka, Ouma Jack Busalile Mwimali,  Mokaya Frida Boyani,  Anne Wambeti Ireri, Ndemo Paul Maina, Kendagor Caroline Jepyegen and Kandet Kennedy Lenkamai.

The interviews will be conducted on 18th March 2024, at the Judicial Service Commission Boardroom, CBK Pension Towers, Harambee Avenue Nairobi.

The seat of Chief Registrar was left vacant after the former registrar, Hon Anne Amadi signed off on Friday 24th November 2023. Anne Amadi took a terminal leave after an impressive ten-year tenure at the judiciary.

Upon her exit, Chief Justice Martha Koome termed her contribution to the judiciary as impactful and transformational.

According to the Chief Justice, some of her notable achievements while serving under the judiciary include institutionalizing participatory methods in budgeting, leading to more effective allocation of funds; and expanding court services and physical infrastructure.

“We witnessed significant improvement in financial management, as evidenced by the reduced number and severity of audit queries in the Judiciary,” Koome said.

Amadi had the privilege of serving under chief justices Dr Willy Mutunga, David Maraga, and Martha Koome. She leaves big shoes to fill as the Chief registrar vacancy was declared open on 13th January 2024.

Hon. Paul Ndemo Maina, also among the shortlisted candidates is the current acting Chief Registrar of the Judiciary.
