Three form four candidates of St. Paul’s Waita secondary school in Mwingi central sub county in Kitui county were arrested early today in the morning after they were cornered perusing through three mobile phones which were suspected to contain some examination materials.
According to Mwingi central police OCPD John Nyamu, the three students were cornered by the school principal in dormitory revising using mobile phones after which he alerted the police and the boys were arrested alongside the phones.
James Musyimi Kakundi, James Kimanzi Syengo, and Cyrus Ngotho all students at Waita secondary school were arrested and interrogated at Mwingi police station after which they were released by police in consultation with sub county director of education to continue with their exams.
Mwingi police cross examined the phones for further analysis to ascertain whether they contained any exam materials.
However, Mr Nyamu has said that initial analysis of the content in the phones are still thought to be normal revision materials but not today’s examination papers as it was earlier thought.
