Top 2020 KCSE student gives word of encouragement to his former schoolmates.

Top student in the 2020 KCSE, Simiyu Robinson Wanjala on Thursday visited his former school where he encouraged the learners to remain focused in their studies.

It was the first time for Wanjala to visit his former school, Murang’a High School after he was announced as the top student nationally in last year’s KCSE.

Wanjala who was accompanied by his parents praised the school’s administration and especially the teachers who encouraged him to perform well in the national exams.

The school’s principal Mr. Willy Kuria praised Wanjala for raising the good reputation of the institution saying it was the first time the school had produced a top candidate nationally.

Wanjala topped the 2020 KCSE with grade A of 87.334 points followed by Allan Wasonga from Agoro Sare High school who got grade A of 87.173 points.

Murang’a governor Mwangi wa Iria termed Wanjala’ good performance as a win for the whole county.

He said Wanjala emerging as the first student in the country has made Murang’a as a whole to shine, saying his administration has been supporting education in various ways.

Wa Iria further said his administration will continue to support needy bright students with full scholarships so as to ensure they complete their studies.

Thirty students from Murang’a High school scored grade A while 86 others attained grade A-. The school’s mean score was 9.865 points.
