Two Arrested in Kombani as Anti-Narcotics Detectives Seize 12 Sacks of Marijuana

In efforts to curb drug trafficking, Coast region anti-narcotics detectives have arrested two suspects in an early morning raid at a homestead in Boa, Kombani area.

The suspects, identified as Kassim Omar Konerwa, 34, and Issa Omar Konerwa, 24, were found in possession of 12 sacks of marijuana, believed to have been stored at the premises for distribution.

“Two suspects of trafficking in narcotics have been arrested by Coast region anti-narcotics detectives, following an early morning raid at a homestead in Boa, Kombani area,” stated the DCI.

“The two, Kassim Omar Konerwa, 34 and Issa Omar Konerwa, 24 were arrested with 12 sacks of marijuana, believed to have been stored at the homestead pending distribution,” the DCI added.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) the duo is in custody awaitu6 arraignment.

The operation is part of an intensified crackdown on drug-related crimes in the region, as law enforcement agencies ramp up efforts to curb drug trafficking and abuse in the country.

Anti-narcotics detectives have vowed to continue pursuing traffickers to dismantle supply networks and protect communities from the devastating effects of drug abuse.

Investigations into the source and intended destination of the seized marijuana are ongoing.

The arrest of the two comes at a time when major operations by the anti-drug detectives continue across the region, with a view to combat the drug use and trafficking menace that had once rocked the area.
