United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General Hassan Omar has fired back at former UDA secretary general Cleophas Malala over his criticism of the ruling officials.
“We wish to caution Malala against roping the party and particularly its Chairperson and the Majority Leader in the political shannigans of an unfounded claim of Deputy President’s impeachment and seek his sympathies through any other means,” stated Omar.
In a statement release by the party the Omar stated that Malala’s ouster was carried out in full compliance with legal and procedural requirements.
“For the avoidance of doubt, Malala was legally and procedyrally removed from office as the secretary general of UDA, and the same acknowledged and ratified by the Registrar of political parties. The office subsequently effected the changes as required of it by law,’ read the statement.
“Malala’s ouster was a collective decision by the Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC), the same organ that had appointed him to hold the position in an “acting” capacity.Suffice it to say, the organ that appointed him is very one that unanimously decided to replace him,” the statement read in part.
Omar issued a strong warning to Malala and his associates, emphasizing that they would face serious consequences if they attempted to damage the reputation of the ruling party.
“The party therefore does not wish to be drawn into endless shananigans recognizing its status as the party of the President, the nation’s ruling party,” noted Omar.
“We find it gross that he is now casting aspersions on the part of the party’s leadership, regrettably invoking the names of Party Chairperson Governor Cecily Mbarire and National Assembly Leader Hon. Kimani Ichung’wah in the purpoted impeachment,” added Omar.
UDA’s Secretary General has expressed his dissatisfaction by Malala’s action to include Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire and National Assembly majority leader Kimani Ichung’wah over claims to impeach Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
“As a party, we find his behaviour unbecoming and inappropriate for former SG Malala to drag her name and that of the majority leader in such unfounded claim of the impeachment of the country’s Deputy President and must stop this rave,” said Omar.
However the statement revealed that Malala was kicked out off office due to his incompetency leading to his dismissal.
“Malala’s co,ourless stint as Secretary General was characterized by molodram, toxicity, missteps, discord, ruin, a failed leadership in all aspects,” read the statement.
Omar sentiments comes after the UDA Founders Association condemned the former Secretary General and called for immediate action following the controversial remarks.
