The US Department of State Under Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights Uzra Zeya has encouraged the DCI to continue sustaining the fight against corruption and to ensure provision of services in strict observance to human rights and the rule of law for a safe and secure society.

This happened on Tuesday 6th August 2024 when the Under Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights at the US Department of State made a courtesy visit to Mr. Mohamed I. Amin, the Director of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), at his office located in the DCI Headquarters in Nairobi.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the Director Mr.Amin appreciated the United States for the support through its embassy.

“Mr. Amin registered his appreciation to the US government through its embassy for the support being given to DCI through various partnerships including support for investigations and prosecution of cases of Gender Based Violence (GBV),” Directorate of Criminal Investigations said on X.

He emphasized once again that the DCI continues to be both proactive and professional in fulfilling its responsibilities, which include investigating crimes, safeguarding life and property, apprehending offenders, and assisting in prosecution processes.

He stated that this is carried out in full compliance with constitutional principles and with due respect for fundamental freedoms and human rights.

“The DCI remains proactive and professional in executing its mandate of investigating crimes, protection of life and property, apprehension of offenders, and supporting prosecution processes. This, he said, is done in strict adherence to constitutional standards and with respect for fundamental freedoms and human rights,” said Mr.Amin.
