Nairobi residents in over ten areas across the capital have been warned of a water shortage set to last for two days.
In a statement by the Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company, city dwellers have been cautioned to use water sparingly from Tuesday 9th August 2016 (6 am) to Wednesday 10th August 2016 (6pm).
According to the firm’s Managing Director Philip Gichuki, the shutdown is set to facilitate the relocation of water pipelines along Outer Ring Road, to give way for expansion of the road.
The affected areas include:
- Kariobangi South and North
- Buruburu Estate Phase I-V
- Umoja I,II and Innercore
- Entire Donholm
- Tassia
- Nyayo Embakasi
- Part of Industrial Area – along Nanyuki and Lunga Lunga Road
- Avenue Park I & II
- Parts of Thika Road – Mathare 4 area and Survey.
The water company also apologised to city residents for the inconvenience caused by the interruption.
