Manchester United’s beautiful start under their caretaker Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær was ended by PSG on Tuesday evening at Old Trafford.
PSG won 2-0, goals from Kylian Mbappe and Presnel Kimpembe assisted by Angel Di Maria.
Manchester United were outplayed and outclassed. Their attack attack attack policy could not help them. United’s wingbacks were easily outran by Mbappe and Angel Di Maria.
PSG dominated the midfield by man-marking United’s danger man, Paul Pogba and frustrating him to a point of being sent off.
PSG face Manchester United in a return leg on 6th March. What are the odds that United will qualify?
First, two away goals give PSG a huge advantage over the Red Devils. This means Manchester United need to score at least 3 goals at Parc Des Princes.
Second, PSG’s form at home has been more than stellar losing only to Liverpool in the Champions League and Guingamp in the Coupe De La Ligue.
Third, Manchester United will be without their talisman Paul Pogba. Paul has been directly involved in 19 goals this season, scoring 11 and assisting 8. His absence will be felt immensely.
And finally fourth, PSG only needs a draw to win. PSG won’t struggle to draw with Manchester given that Ole’s men only managed one shot on target on Tuesday night.
Things are not looking up for Manchester United, are they?
But football remembers, PSG once bottled a 4-0 lead against Barcelona in the 2017/2018 season.
Time reveals everything, 6th March 2018 will reveal everything.
