Two workers at the home of suspected drug lord Ali Punjani were arrested and will be charged with giving false information to police. According to the report the two had hindered police investigators from accessing the tycoon’s home.
In a sweeping operation to find evidence linking Ali Punjani to drug trafficking, police arrested the wife of the Mombasa tycoon, a 24 year old Nepalese Karki Sushmi, Shiva Prasad Bashyal, Sushmi’s cousin and an Indian national, Ram Manoj
The last two are being interrogated by police over their frequent travels to Tanzania. Police confiscated the foreigners’ documents including passports, a birth certificate and ids.
Police however, still believe that Ali Punjani is a drug trafficking suspect and expect him to surrender to police within two weeks of his return from India where he is undergoing treatment.
