I will never support Kidero, Sonko speaks out

Nairobi Senator, Mike Sonko has categorically stated that he has no intentions, and never ever thought of supporting Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero as it was alleged.

Sonko was responding to a gutter press report, ‘corners of power’ article that alleged that his recent meeting with the governor was a plan to skim their way into power come 2017 elections.

“My attention has been drawn to a story appearing in one gutter press alleging that am warming up to the Nairobi Governor Dr. Evans Kidero,” the Senator wrote on his Social media. “I wish to categorically state here and now that I have never, am not and will never support Dr. Kidero who is my competitor for the 2017 gubernatorial race.”

Sonko noted that his  loyalty to Jubilee Party and H.E President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Government remains unshakable and unrivalled.

He rubbished the article terming it a “malice and propaganda in the story only meant to portray'” him as a traitor having been recently appointed to the President Uhuru’s presidential re-election campaign Team.\

“I wish to further state that the lunch meeting I had with Dr. Kidero was after we attended a parliamentary Standing Committee meeting on Roads and Transportation at Prugna Room Intercontinental Hotel, Nairobi,” he added. “The meeting was to build consensus on the Kenya Roads Bill (National Assembly Bill No 26 of 2015) and was attended by Governors and Senators among other top Government officials.”

Sonko added that he will continue to oversight the Nairobi Country Executive and to hold the Governor to account for all the monies received from the exchequer and from the locally generated revenue.
