KNUT Secretary General Wilson Sossion risks losing his post as the court has upheld his deregistration as a teacher. The court has upheld Teachers Service Comission’s (TSC) deregistration of Sossion as a teacher in January last year. TSC deregistered him citing that his nomination in Parliament to push ODM’s agenda.

“The commission has decided to terminate your services as a teacher with effect from January 15th, 2018. It has been noted that you were nominated as a Member of Parliament yet the Commission has not received your resignation or retirement letter,”TSC chief Nancy Macharia said.

TSC had written to Sossion and Kuppet chairman Omboko Milemba, informing them that they were no longer teachers. Subsequently, TUC-Ke organising secretary Charles Mukhwaya had suspended Sossion over gross misconduct. To which Sossion had categorically stated that Mukhwaya had no powers to suspend him.
