Detectives in Embakasi have launched an investigation into the brutal murder of a young woman who was reportedly strangled to death by two unidentified men in the Jua Kali area of Embakasi, Nairobi.

According to police reports, the incident occurred late last night and was brought to the attention of authorities by three local residents.

The witnesses responded to a distress call after hearing a commotion near their homes around midnight.

Upon arrival, they found two men allegedly forcing themselves on the woman.

However, the suspects fled into the darkness as the residents approached.

Officers from Embakasi Police Station, including Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) personnel from Nairobi Area, arrived at the scene and discovered the unresponsive body of the young woman.

Her lower undergarments had been pulled down, and strangulation marks were visible on her neck, suggesting she was sexually assaulted before being killed.

“At Embakasi Police Station, the three reported to have found two unknown men forcing themselves on the young woman believed to be in her early 20s, but who bolted out into the dark at the approach of the responders,” noted the detectives.

“Police who included CSI personnel from Nairobi area arrived at the scene to find the unresponsive body of the lady, with lowered underpants and strangulation marks on her neck,” added the DCI.

The scene was processed by forensic experts, and the body has since been moved to the City Mortuary, where it awaits identification and an autopsy to establish the exact cause of death.
