KU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Wainaina Leads Mourning With Bereaved Families

Kenyatta University Vice Chancellor Prof. Paul Wainaina led the university in mourning with the families who lost their loved ones following the tragic accident that happened on Monday evening leaving several students dead with others injured.

In his statement, Prof. Wainaina expressed his heartfelt sympathies to the families who tragically lost their loved ones in the accident.

“On behalf of the University Council and the Management Board, I wish to convey our deepest heartfelt condolences to the families who have lost loved ones in this tragic accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all,” said the Vice-Chancellor.”

This comes even as the university announces a suspension of all classes to allow a three-day mourning period, in honour of the departed students. “Following this unprecedented tragedy, the University Management has decided to suspend all classes for three (3) days beginning Wednesday 20th March 2024 to enable us to mourn our beloved students.” said the Deputy Vice-Chancellor.

Some of the leaders who have expressed their condolences include former Vice Chancellor Olive Mugenda, Education CS Ezekiel Machogu, Kiharu MP Ndidi Nyoro, and Labour and Social Protection CS Florence Bore.
