Nyeri Police Take Down Notorious Criminal In Sting Operation

Law enforcement officials in Nyeri have formally charged a highly sought-after suspect infamous for engaging in violent robberies, drug trafficking, mugging, and phone snatching.

The apprehension took place as part of a security operation conducted by patrol officers in the Weitemere area on 6th March 2024.

Peter Ndiritu Ndirangu, also known as Kimaitho and aged 35, was taken into custody following information provided by concerned citizens, triggering an extensive manhunt that successfully flushed him out of his hiding place.

According to the police, Ndirangu has a track record of committing crimes that landed him numerous years in various correctional facilities. After a thorough search by the police, Ndirangu was found carrying 12 sachets of heroin, 9 rolls of marijuana, a machete, and two kitchen knives on his person.

Since his release from prison in December 2023, the elusive suspect has been implicated in multiple reported attacks in Weitemere, Majengo, Kiawara, and Blue Valley areas of Nyeri.

Given his criminal background, the ex-convict has been remanded at King’ong’o prison without the option of bail.
